Evap Contraption

We wanted an evaporation machine that didn’t use water pumps to work. We designed a trough with a barrel suspended above it, and engaged a display case rotation motor to pull a loop of shade cloth in and out of the water.

As you can see, the cloth loop migrated a bit with the wind, but it was still effective in ridding us of many gallons of grey water each day, with less mess than a static pond or a fountain.
